Several statewide groups will be holding informational briefings on the new Open Records Law across Pennsylvania in April. The PA Association of Township Supervisors, County Commissioners of Pennsylvania, Pennsylvania Newspaper Association and the Governors Center for Local Government Services will be presenting The Open Records Act: What is New, and What has Stayed the Same, a workshop to help municipal and county officials understand the recent changes to the law. While the new state Open Records Office has not yet been established, these briefings will provide a basis for officials to understand their new responsibilities and tips for handling Open Records requests. I will be cosponsoring a session with these organizations at Park Plaza, 500 Centerville Road, Lancaster, on Tuesday, April 29, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. Individuals can access more information about registration and fees, or register online, by going to www.palocalgovtraining.org and clicking the Open Records Act link under Conferences and Other Training. | ||
